Trainer Profile

Malathy Muniandy is a dynamic and experienced trainer who has built a solid career in the education and training industry, with over eight years of progressive involvement in academic instruction, corporate learning, training operations, and talent development. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Commerce and is a Certified Trainer under the National Competency Standard by the Department of Skills Development (DSD), as well as an HRD Corp Accredited Trainer. In 2025, she received her Certified Assessor credential from the Ministry of Human Resources.

She began her career as a lecturer at PORTMAN College, later rising to become the Head of Business School, where she was responsible for overseeing curriculum delivery, student engagement, and academic performance. Her transition into corporate training allowed her to develop her expertise in learning and development, where she has since served in multiple capacities including Training Administrator, Executive, and currently as Training Specialist and Centre Administrator at Thames Oxford Academy.

At Thames Oxford Academy, Malathy plays a dual role—managing day-to-day training center operations and delivering training as a lead facilitator. She is responsible for HRD Corp-related processes such as grant applications, claims submission, and program coordination. She also oversees customer relations, manages a network of freelance trainers, and handles the ePerolehan procurement system under the Ministry of Finance. In addition, she manages a Food Handler Training School accredited by the Ministry of Health Malaysia, ensuring compliance, delivery quality, and operational efficiency.

Malathy is an experienced facilitator and has conducted over 20 impactful teambuilding sessions for leading organizations including VALE Minerals Malaysia and Bank Mandiri Malaysia. She is also an appointed trainer for the Train-the-Trainer (TTT) – National Competency Standard since 2022 and has trained over 500 participants nationwide, with a focus on curriculum design, public speaking, presentation skills, customer service excellence, and basic leadership development.

Her skills extend into the digital learning space as well. She is a certified Virtual LearnCaster and Level 2 Google Educator, enabling her to deliver engaging and effective online training. She has also undergone a wide range of professional development programs related to eLearning and TVET, including the development of written instructional materials, NDTS induction, assessor and TVET center manager induction, and virtual assessment methods through CIAST.
